Mother Nature STILL not cooperating with Wollaber Racing

Well....the rain held off last night at LES, and no motor = no racing + no rain = no points for the #51 Late Model this week. We will be back next week and eager to start making up the points we lost this week.

The weather didn't hold off today at Lancaster and the show is once again canceled. Rain is 4 for 5 so far this season......they are going to be tough to beat.

Hope for Rain tonight at LES

This is the first time we have ever hoped for rain on a race night. We lost the motor in the Late Model last week in the feature and the parts to put together the new motor did not come in time for this week. So if you were wondering why we were a no show this week, that is why. That is also why we are hoping for rain this week so that the #51 Visteon Late model does not miss a week of racing. After the DNF last week, missing a week of racing will really hurt us in the points.

Welcome to Dave Wollaber Racing!

This is the official site for information on Dave Wollaber racing and the three cars he currently drives.

On Friday nights Dave Drives the #51 Visteon Late Model at Lake Erie Speedway in North East PA, for Adamczyk Racing and Mike Casullo.

The #51 can be seen on Friday nights at Lake Erie Speedway in North East, PA. We hope to run some selected shows at Lancaster this season, stay tuned for dates.

On Saturday nights Dave is back behind the wheel of the #5 Englewood Collision Modified and the #1 Englewood Collision TQ midget for car owners Dick Stone and Vincent Christiano. Both cars are fresh off of championship seasons!

The #5 and #1 can be seen on a regular basis at Lancaster Raceway Park as we attempt to defend our titles.

We will be bringing the #5 Modified to some selected ROC races throughout the season as well, I will post the dates and events as soon as I know.

The #1 TQ Midget will also make a couple limited appearances at some other tracks such as Lake Erie or Wyoming County as the schedule allows. You may also see Dave behind the wheel of a mystery midget........

Season Recap and Update

Season Recap as of 5/27/2005:

Lake Erie Speedway
April 29th: The #51 Late Model made its debut at Lake Erie Speedway with Dave behind the wheel of a Full-fendered car for the first time. Dave took the Heat race win and battled for a Third place finish in the feature. We were happy with the way the season started but our luck has seemed to change since then.

May 6th: In the heat race some 3 wide action down the front stretch caused contact between Dave and the 09. The contact cut down the RF tire so Dave had to make a pit stop. We were able to get the tire changed and get him back out on the lead lap. Dave raced his way back to 4th in the 10 lap heat race. In the feature Dave was fighting a tight racecar all night. Dave had settled into 6th place and was hoping to ride it out the rest of the race until the 33b lost his patience with 3 laps to go and dumped us in turn 3. In the last 3 laps Dave was able to battle back to salvage a 14th place finish. According to the 33b he couldn't go to the outside because he didn't have a mirror?!?

May 13th: The day started off much better as we raced to second place in the heat race. At the start of the feature the #51 looked strong fighting on the outside and taking the lead for a couple laps. At about 1/2 way through the race the #51 picked up a terrible push which was getting worse as the race progressed. Dave held onto it for the remainder of the race to finish 10th. After the race we found the RF was going flat and ruined our chance for what seemed to be a sure top-5 finish.

May 20th: After a poor run in the heat race due to a setup problem and a 6th place finish, the crew made some changes to the #51 and after the first few laps it was evident they made the right adjustments. Dave was turning some fast lap times and was looking to take second place away from the eventual winner when the motor let go. This was a disappointing end to what looked to be a good run. We ended up about 20 laps down in 23d place.

Lake Erie has been a great place to run this year with impressive car counts (over 25 Late Models each week)Our luck has to change soon and we will be back up front!

Lancaster Raceway Park
May 7th: This is our first and only Modified race we have gotten in so far this year. Mother nature has not been too friendly to the racers and fans at Lancaster so far. The #5 started the 2005 season much like 2004 with consistent top 5 finishes. Dave raced to a 2nd place finish in the heat race, and had another solid run in the feature finishing 4th.

May 21st: We were able to get in the TQ Midget feature before the rain came last Saturday. Dave continued his winning ways in the TQ division taking the lead early and holding off a hard charging AJ Hessler to take the checkered flag.
